Acne: According to dermatologists and aromatherapists, lavender essential oil is one of the most beneficial oils in treatment of acne, which is a very uncomfortable and embarrassing condition that primarily affects young people as they move through puberty, but can also afflict adults. Acne is characterized by red, raised sores on the face and body that develop due to a bacterial infection near the sebum gland. When sebum cannot be properly secreted from the sebum glands on the face, it begins to build up, particularly because puberty stimulates extra sebum and bacteria feeds off of it, creating a vicious cycle of irritation, infection, and visible sores that can result in serious scarring.
Lavender essential oil inhibits bacterias causing the initial infection, helping to regulate some of the over-excretion of sebum by hormonal manipulation, hence reducing scarring signs after the acne has begun to heal. Adding a small amount of lavender essential oil to other skin creams & ointments greatly increase relief and healing.
Blood circulation: Research indicates that lavender oil based aromatherapy has beneficial effects on coronary circulation. It lowers blood pressure hence often used for hypertension treatment, meaning organs increased levels of oxygenation, promoting muscle strength & brain activity, with the skin remaining bright and flushed with blood resulting in increased protection from risks of heart attack and artherosclerosis, often associated with poor blood circulation.

Lavender Essential Oil vs Lavender fragrances:
While scientists can duplicate the fragrance of essential oils, they have so far been unable to duplicate the benefits. There are many Lavender fragrance oils on the market. They all smell like lavender, consistently smell the same and are long lasting. They are great for fragrancing soaps, perfumes, cosmetics and candles but they have none of the benefits listed above. Use genuine natural essential oils for their healing and therapeutic benefits but may cautiously use invariably cheaper fragrances for perfuming purpose only.
